Kenneth LaPensee - Advancing Public Health Through Research

An accomplished health economist and researcher with more than four decades of experience in public health and pharmaceutical outcomes research, Kenneth LaPensee holds a PhD in anthropology, social science, and health services from the University of Connecticut, where he was awarded a university fellowship and a research grant from the National Institute of Mental Health. Kenneth LaPensee later earned a degree in epidemiology and quantitative methods from the Rutgers School of Public Health, where he also completed a U.S. Public Health Service internship.

Dr. LaPensee served as director of health economics and outcomes research at Paratek Pharmaceuticals, where he focused on the economic evaluation of hospital-administered antibiotics. He concurrently serves as the principal and owner of Skylands Healthcare Consulting LLC, a firm that provides evidence generation and strategic support to pharmaceutical and biotech clients. His prior roles include senior leadership positions at The Medicines Company and Forest Research Institute, where he worked on clinical trial design, health care data analysis, and cost-effectiveness modeling.

Outside of his professional pursuits, Dr. LaPensee actively contributes to community and scientific organizations, such as the American Legion, the Lebanon Township Open Space Commission, and ISPOR. He enjoys hiking, international travel, and exploring a variety of cuisines. He also has a strong interest in classical music and visual art.
